A short biography about me and how I came to write a novel.

Everyone needs an author bio, right? So, here it is. Roger (that would be me) was born in rural Arkansas in the late ‘40s. While growing up I did all the things that other boys in that time and place did, none of which bear repeating here.

I joined the U.S. Army right out of high school because we were at war in Vietnam and I thought that was what I was supposed to do. Your country's at war, you go fight, right?

Made sense to me at the time. I scored really high on all the Army tests and was selected to become part U.S. Army's elite Signals Intelligence unit, the Army Security Agency which later became the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command. I spent over 20 years running all over the globe listening to the communications of our enemies and stealing their secrets.

Retired in ’91 and spent another 20 or so building and maintaining global computer networks. During my military years, and I should say I loved every minute of it, I served in Viet Nam, Japan, Germany, the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and several places in the continental U.S.

In 1984 I was selected for and participated in the Center Lane Project, one of the starter projects that trolled for people suitable (by abilities or temperament or, just possibly, some other criteria I am unaware of) to move on to the much publicized CIA psychic warfare experiment, The Stargate Project. All this happened before Stargate was owned by the CIA.  At the time of my training the military was very much involved.

The strange experiences I had during that experiment prompted me to write Secret Warriors, Psychic Spies. Now, after my second and final retirement, I live in Colorado with my wife Judy and spend my time camping in the Colorado Mountains, spoiling grandchildren and writing.  Science fiction and fantasy are my first loves but, on occasion, I write pretty much anything that comes to mind.

Secret Warriors, Psychic Spies is published on Amazon.com as both Kindle and paperback.  I published it as a work of fiction because, well hell, no one was gonna believe any of it otherwise.

That’s my story such as it is.  I will post some short fictions here and from time to time I will talk a little about other things I am writing.
